O.F.T.A. (Overseas Financial Trade Association) was incorporated in 2001 and launched that year with a presentation in the House of Commons, Westminster, London, England.
Since then it has worked closely with clients and the overseas financial services industry, creating and improving standards.
O.F.T.A.'s main roles are to offer a free ombudsman service to clients of members in the event of any disputes, enforcing companies to comply with their findings, and to fully train potential consultants to U.K. and overseas qualification standard, finding them a place with compatible companies, and preparing them ready to work in the overseas sector of financial services.
The independent ombudsmen used are fully qualified in the regulatory industry and have worked in compliance for numerous years in the U.K. and other jurisdictions. O.F.T.A. has a strict code of practice for all companies and consultants and constantly check to ensure they are upheld.
O.F.T.A. enjoys numerous endorsements and supporters.
“I think the creation of the Overseas Financial Trade Association is, if I may say so, extremely timely, as I am sure that with the current pressures on Overseas financial service providers, the Trade Association could be very helpful in protecting their interests.”
The Rt. Hon, The Lord Brittan of Spennithorne, Leon Brittan
